Attendance at Bishop Lonsdale

Bishop Lonsdale Primary School has an unwavering commitment to upholding excellence in attendance practice.
We are the first school in the UK to be awarded the Inclusive Attendance Silver KITE Mark

The KITE Mark criteria aligns with, and is based on, the Inclusive Attendance Programme and the DfE statutory Working Together to Improve School Attendance paper.

We have met the required standard for the following criteria:
Criteria 1: Attendance is a High Priority.
Criteria 2: Clear and Effective Attendance Strategy.
Criteria 3: Demonstrate Incremental Attendance Gains and Use of Attendance Data to Support Identified Children
Criteria 4: Key Stakeholders Responsibility, Challenge, and Accountability

Bishop Lonsdale Primary School is an Inclusive Attendance Collaborative School. We are happy to share our strategies and successful practice with other schools. Click the link below.

We have identified children in school as act as Attendance Ambassadors.
Why is good attendance at school important?
Every day in school is a chance for your child to learn something new, build friendships, and grow in confidence. When children miss school, they miss out on key learning moments that can be hard to catch up on. Good attendance helps children feel part of the school community, keeps their learning on track, and sets strong habits for the future. By making school attendance a priority, you're giving your child the best possible start in life.
Our Attendance Road Map shows you at a glance our attendance procedures for the day.
