School Sports Council
Bishop Lonsdale School Sports Council is a group of children who work together to promote physical activity, sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles. Children are selected based on contributions to physical and sports based activities over the year.
The sports council meet regularly to organise interhouse events such as interhouse new age kurling, netball and tug of war to name but a few. Recently the Sports Council have also supported staff in delivering cross school events.
The Sports Council typically:
- Organises sports events such as sports day, inter-house competitions and charity events.
- Promotes physical activity by encouraging participation in clubs and daily exercise.
- Gathers student feedback on PE lessons and extracurricular activities.
- Acts as role models for teamwork, fair play, and perseverance.
- Collaborates with staff to organise events.
Team Captains
All children are placed in a team. The team names are:
Amber (Yellow)
Derwent (Green)
Trent (Red)
Children collect team points when they successfully work as a group, class or team.
Teams also compete against each other on Sports Day and other inter house sports events.
Team captains and vice captains are selected when children enter Y6.
