Reading Ambassadors

Reading Ambassadors play a vital role in promoting a love of reading across our school. These enthusiastic pupils are selected for their passion for books and their ability to inspire others. Every lunchtime, the Reading Ambassadors organise a book sharing session on the playground where they read to the younger children. They organise other reading activities such as running lunchtime book clubs in the library with groups of children from KS1.  By acting as positive role models, Reading Ambassadors encourage their peers to explore new genres, develop reading confidence, and enjoy the many benefits of reading for pleasure.

 Librarians

Our Year 6 Librarians play an important leadership role in helping to promote a love of reading across the school. As part of their duties, they assist in the day-to-day running of the school library at lunchtime including:

• Organising and shelving books correctly
• Helping younger pupils find and choose books
• Keeping the library tidy and welcoming
• Promoting new books and recommending favourites
